Accomodations suggestions??? More 4 scenery than wine??

We have 2 free tickets and would like to use them to visit Northern California wine country. We can fly into San Fran or Sacramento. We are more interested in a location that has beautiful scenery and accomodations as we are not bit wine drinkers. Any ideas or suggestions??? Thanks!

If you are not big wine drinkers, then there isn't much reason to go to wine country, except maybe for very exclusive restaurants. The scenery there is nice, but not the best the area has to offer.

Better options are: Big Sur, Monterey/Carmel, Lake Tahoe or Yosemite National park.

Just my opinion, other people may disagree

thanks for your input. Are all the areas you mentioned within a short (1 hour??) distance to San Francisco? We have been to San Fran before and done the touristy things there so we don't really want to spend much time there. We were hoping for some sort of Inn/Spa in Wine Country and then to also visit one of the Redwood forests.

Thanks again!!

No, all are more than 1hr.

Monterey - 2hrs

Big Sur - almost 3hr

Tahoe and Yosemite - 4rs

Muir woods is 30 mins from SF and is the closest redwood forest
