take Hiway 80 east (Bay Bridge) all the way to Sacramento (follow the signs), then take hiway 50 to south lake tahoe. A few miles before you get into town (south lake tahoe) Look for the road "Pioneer trail" turn right, follow it all the way to it's end, turn right, Harvey's will be a short way up on your left.

The Pioneer trail shortcut allows you to skip the main drag (South lake tahoe Blvd) where there are lots of stop lights and traffic.

go to Google maps, search on "south Lake Tahoe, Pioneer trail" to see the route

Follow Simbot's instructions & you'll get there in about 4hrs unless it's a Friday afternoon & you'll deal with the typical weekend traffic. Get an early start!
