I've never been there myself, but... it's a park, hiking, biking, camping, etc.

If you love hikes, it's worth it. Much of it is nature and views.

Angel Island is a State Park, and was origionally an Imigration station for people coming from Asia. It sits in the middle of San Francisco Bay and provides beautiful vistas on a clear day. Great Place to take photos and hike but not really much more.

If great scenery and photos are not a reason to go somewhere, then what does it take for you to leave the house? Angel Island is a lovely place in nice weather. The boat ride over the bay, the hiking trails, views of the whole bay area, the abandoned immigration station... all of these make it worth the trip. I would not recommend it only to people who are not fit enough for a day of walking.

Just to add to the question-does anyone know about a tram tour of the island?
