SF in May 2009

My partner and I will be spending a few days in San Francisco in late May. We are flying back from a week in Hawaii and plan on staying in SF to visit friends and beat the "jet lag" from flying directly from HI to NJ (almost a 24-hour ordeal with time zones).

We are looking into hotels and it sounds like we will try to get a room at The Chancellor (thanks to TA reviews). Our big question--what is the weather like in late May? This will actually be Memorial Day weekend so we hope there aren't any conventions at that time. We will be prepared for weather cooler than Hawaii, of course, but any information would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

We just visited SF for the first time in July. It gets chilly. When people say dress in layers they aren't kidding. You will definitely need pants for the evening (if not the daytime too) and a jacket. It is a great city, but the weather changes quickly. Even if it seems warm take a jacket because in 20 minutes you'll need it.

Thanks for the info--if it wasn't for long-time friends/family who moved to the Northern California region, we'd be flying in and out of Phoenix! LOL Oh why did they have to put Silicon Valley so close to the colder Northern California? Why couldn't Silicon Valley be outside San Diego?

Better question--let's hope there isn't an Earthquake while we are there--so, that's not a question, but after riding the "Earthquake" at Universal Studios, I don't want to experience the real deal. ROFLMAO
