Limo Hire - is it worth it?

Myself and my husband and four year old son are planning a trip to SF in early December. We will be arriving at San Francisco International Airport at about 9.00pm from Sydney, Australia via Honolulu. We'll probably have loads of luggage, stroller etc.. and someone mentioned to us that it might be easier to rent a limo to bring us to our hotel on Fisherman's Wharf.. What do you think? Would a taxi be better? As its a once in a lifetime "Round the World" trip, we don't mind spending a little bit extra.. Thanks in advance for your help!

Many have spoken about this service as it is offering great rates and nice customer service: http://www.qstc.net/

it's a 30-45 minute ride for you.

taxi service does leave something to be desired and I think at that time of night, the reassurance of a car service is what you need upon your arrival.

I don't have an answer for you, but "what do you think" is a perfectly legit question for the likes of the tripadvisor forum! Isn't that why we're on this website- to ask for and to give advice? Geez, chill out Chuck.

Round the World Trip.

Once in a lifetime.

You have the $$

I would do it. You will have a much more relaxed, enjoyable and stress free transfer to your hotel and welcome to San Francisco than any other means available.

Quicksilver Limo you have already been given. You could also look at Abbey___Limostars and ABC.

Avoid MCH.

I agree - go for it! You will be more comfortable. And, please, disregard the first rude post - these forums are for questions such as yours. It bothers me that someone would answer so rudely, and makes me hesitant to ask my own questions.

Thank you ObsidianSnow, Bellagreen, Oskar and 3Doxiesmom for your suggestions and helpfulness. I too was under the impression that the idea behind the Trip Advisor forum, was to feel comfortable asking sometimes "obvious" questions by asking the opinions of those who are in the know. Having never been to San Fran before, I was unsure of the distance from the airport to Fisherman's Wharf. I looked at the SFO website that listed 100's (slight exaggeration!) of limo / car rental companies and thought I'd be better off asking someone who's used the service in the past, or has local knowledge. Thanks for the clarification of both distance, and the quality of airport taxis. I also appreciate the limo company suggestions - much easier to arrange when you only have to look at 3 or 4 as opposed to twenty times that amount! To Blackbelt4dan, I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I hope that if you're ever on the Ireland forum looking for information, that you don't receive a reply similar to the one I received from you. Thanks again for all the suggestions!

yes, thank you FK1701, I too thought it was a legitimate question. I will be going there myself in two weeks by myself hence why I was on the site checking out the forum as I have done so before and although I am not wealthy for an extra few bucks I would splurge on a limo since I am traveling alone at night and deserve the splurge. I was quite shocked by that response myself....I guess we aren't going to Vancouver anytime soon!

The forum has spoken and it's time to go... Chuck. Really, if you've nothing helpful to offer, don't bother responding at all. It's that simple. You've missed the point of this forum Chuck. Move on.

Sorry, I've nothing to offer. I was checking your post for helpful advise.
