Jazz at Pearl's Closed?

Part of our excitement at staying two nights at Hotel Bohème was its proximity to Jazz at Pearl's. We were looking forward to the 1930s vibe, Spanish tapas, and great live music. How disappointing to read that it closed last week.

Yep, unfortuntely it looks like Pearl's closed at the end of July.

These won't be exactly the same, but you could try Yoshi's Jazz Club. I know Enrico's Restaurant in North Beach usually has a jazz band playing most nights. And then there's Bistro Yoffi in the Marina District.

Thanks for the recommendations, bellagreen. I've often heard of Yoshi's on the jazz satellite station we have in the car, but there's no schedule posted for October when we'll visit. I see that Enrico's has jazz guitarist Farzad Arjmand on Saturday and Sunday nights, and I think we'd like to stop in one evening. I realize that this would be going in quite a different direction, but I'm also considering Beach Blanket Babylon.

Beach Blanket Babylon is worth seeing.

Close to the same area as Jazz is the Bubble Lounge...You might enjoy a drink there one night...

You might also want to check the Great American Music Hall

Also in case you wanted to hear Jazz, the Jazz Festival goes on throughout October. See the web site:

Enjoy!

William, thanks for the tips...as well as the links in your PMs.

Mini, thanks for the links you've posted, too. When we started talking about going to SF in October, I checked the jazz festival link and noted that the legendary Dave Brubeck, whom we were so thrilled to hear in 2007, will be performing October 22, but it worked out that we'll be spending just two nights in the city this time and most of our time exploring the coast.
