One Night in hotel in SF with Parking

We will be in San Francisco for one night. We will be heading to Napa the next morning. We will also have to park our car. What is best area to stay in to maximize the short amount of time in SF? My husband and I have never been to SF. Any recommendations on hotels, would like to pay less than $250 especially if we have to pay for parking? Thanks for your help.

Best Western Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf is reasonable (avg. rate is $189) and it has a parking package: (415) 561-1100 phone http://www.tuscaninn.com/RoomsSuites

There are many hotels along Lombard Street which all have parking. I'm a fan of the slightly funky Del Sol (http://www.jdvhotels.com/del_sol/?cid=gl_del). But there are lots more. Lombard Street is a main artery to the Golden Gate Bridge so would be convenient as you head to Napa the next day. It is also right between two nice neighborhoods: Chestnut St. and the Marina one block north and Union St./Cow Hollow a couple of blocks north. Both have nice shopping and restaurants without being touristy. Fisherman's Wharf is OK but very crowded and getting a bit schlocky.

Have a great time.

No need to spend that much for just a nice clean room and parking/one night. Try Columbus Motor Inn, walking distance to everything if you're hearty walkers...and cable cars two blocks away if you're not. Chelsea Motor Inn is also good but not as conveniently located.
