Evening entertainment for the over 30 crowd

Any recommendations for a pub, bar or nightclub for the over 30 crowd? Heading to San Francisco with the girls and looking for a place to hang out without all the kids around. Suggestions??

Martuni's on Market and Valencia is always happening. It's got your classy cocktails and a piano bar in the back. http://martunis.ypguides.net/

It's a good mixed crowd of Gay and straight.

And if you want to travel a bit further up market you can hit Cafe du Nord. It's like the straight bar in the Castro area. A former speak-easy that has maintained its hipness through the decades. http://www.cafedunord.com/

Definitely see if there's a show at the Fillmore you'd like; it is a fun venue for concerts: www.thefillmore.com

also the Great American Music Hall www.musichallsf.com

Union Square area recommendations:

Johnny Foley's http://www.johnnyfoleys.com/

Hotel Utah Saloon www.hotelutah.com (you can drink without seeing the band and without paying a cover)

The Chieftain www.thechieftain.com/

Midi is also a nice new bar near Union Square that makes excellent cocktails with fresh juice and homemade ingredients: http://midisanfrancisco.com/ and http://midisanfrancisco.com/menus_bar.aspx
