Sausalito Ferry

Is the ferry ride to Sausalito fun and if so where should we have lunch? Thanks

The real fun is riding bikes over to Sausalito and then taking the ferry back. But if you don't feel up to that, roundtrip on the ferry is still a good time. It's about a half hour and great views the whole way.

There are lots of restaurants of all types in Sausalito. IMO the best is Poggio which is right across from the ferry landing. No views but very good food.

But there is a lot to choose from over there.

There are two different ferries that serve Sausalito. One docks at Fisherman's Wharf and the other at the Ferry Building, so be careful when you board that you're getting the right one (although it's only a mile or so between the two SF docks).

We did the return ferry cruise last July, superb views(for permitting) & we ate at Horizons which was excellent, especially as we got a table outside with a view over the bay, gets pretty chilly at time though so have something warm to wear!

Here are the links to both Ferry services.

I agree with Sal that Poggio is a very good restaurant but without a view.

I like Horizons because of the deck area but also Spinnakers offers good lunch and great views.
