Evening in San Francisco

Just an open question.

With two boys 10 and 14, which area will be most fun to spend the evening, including dinner. We are not particular about food, but if there are street performers much better.

Thank You

Fisherman Wharf/Pier 39 area would be best for the evening with boys 10 and 14. However, the evenings there are "short". In general, the place gets super quiet by 8 (on week-nights) and 9 on week-ends. As such, just plan an earlier evening.

If you want later activities, Union Square area has more activity late at night.

Street performers are easier to find int he Fisherman Wharf and Pier 39 area...as well as our wonderful elephant seals. Lots of place to have dinner...seafood is popular of course in the area.

Your boys may also like to see the old fashioned Musee Mechanique

(note: old amusement park games).

Also, they might like to watch the bakers making sourdough bread at Boudin Bakery.

xi - Besides what has been mentioned, San Francisco does not have a place as you describe. Perhaps you can go to the Yerba Buena Center which has ice skating and bowling. See http://skatebowl.com/

In the next block is the Westfield Center, with movies. See http://westfield.com/sanfrancisco/movies/

Thank you both for your contributions. Little by little the jigsaw puzzle is taking shape! Just too early to publish my itinerary yet!
