4 nights in San Francisco - help us prioritise

Hubby & I have 4 nights in May in SFO, hotel already booked in Union Sq area, there's so much to do we've no idea where to start. Want to visit wine region and ride a cable car. Already have a few restaurant recommendations courtesy of a fellow trip advisor. We love people watching..................

1. Re: 4 nights in San Francisco - help us prioritise

4 nights is only really 3 FULL days, so 1 full day is already gone to visit Napa/Sonoma. With this short time I would do a city tour such as Mr Toads to get a good overview of the city at the beginning of your trip.

Your question is a bit vague, so it's hard to help you prioritise when you only mention 2 things, and no interests apart from people watching.

You might start by gong to the left side of this screen and under "More on San Francisco" click on 'Thins to Do'. to give you some ideas. Then come back and ask more questions.

I agree that with only two days in the city I would take a tour to get a picture of the whole city. You will probably then find a place to which you would like to return for more depth, short as your time is.

I have not taken these tours but the two which are mentioned often on this forum and Mr. Toad and Dylan's. Those who know these tours can give you more information about them.

Just to expand on Puter's comment about the tours which get good mention here. Dylan's is a 5 hour tour. Mr. Toad's has a short 90 minute one as well as a 3 hour tour.

They both are done in small groups and aren't big bus tours.
