family ideas and early new years eve fireworks

In some cities they have fireworks early for the sake of families. Does SFO offer anything fun for teens to do on New years eve?

NYE in SF is primarily an adult venture -- centered around parties, alcohol, clubs, etc. There are some restaurants that have a special menu, so that might work for you. The fireworks are at midnight, and there's no entertainment or other events in conjunction. Fireworks will be viewable from the Embarcadero near Mission St. (not by the Ferry Building as in past years).

I've searched …sfgate.com/holidays/…san-francisco-ca and found some events for 18+. .. Wild 94.9 Kick*ss NYE at Mist Nightclub. There's a comedy event at the Herbst Theatre for 18+, called Not Your Normal New Year.

If the kids are under 18, then I don't think there will be anything for them at night.

California's SB514 (Simitan) legislated ban on the sales of over the counter cough and cold remedies containing Dextromethorphan (DXM) to persons under the age of 18 kicks in on January 1st, so this may be the last opportunity for your kids to go robo-tripping legally, at least around these parts.
