How about Sun AM for mural photos & parking in the Mission?

Thanks for your earlier replies about mural locations, etc. I wanted to know if I drove to the Mission about 8:00 AM on Sunday morning if I could park at various places and get out of the car and make a photo at the different places that you suggested? I think some of the streets are probably pedestrian only.

Will it be safe at that time?

Thanks, Kent

yes it will be ok to go and park as close as you like and then see the murals. In and around the mission on Sundays there are Church services in the morning and the coffee shops and markets will all be open. and you will be fine.

I'm not sure how much parking will be available. Especially near the churches. Dolores on Sundays the cars take one of the lanes for parking near the church and there still doesn't appear to be much street parking.

Parking meters do not require payment on Sundays however.

Sure it will be safe at that time.

The parking may take some time, circling to find a place not taken on Saturday night by the residents who are still sleeping in at that hour.

I suppose you could pretend to be one of the mass celebrants near Dolores Park?

It might be time to get some religion!

Parking is always tough in the Mission district even on Sunday mornings. I'd probably park the car somewhere and then walk.

we go to get some fresh pastries Sunday morning and as was said, we have to do the usual SF go around the block, wait for someone to pull out, park in that center median -- have learned all the tricks of the trade -- hunt and you will be rewarded in SF.

There are a couple of garages in that area too.

Don't park in the center median - it!s illegal and can get you a ticket or towed

If you want to focus on Balmy Alley and the surrounding parts of 24th St on Sun morning, look for parking on or closer to Potrero Ave than towards Mission St, and walk from there. You do not pay the meter, but do not park illegally, as they issue tickets a lot on Sundays. I go to La Mexicana bakery every week around that time.

At 8am, there is plenty of parking even on Mission St itself on a Sunday. I do it at least twice a month to go to my breakfast spots. Do it.
