I left my heart....

Will be visiting San Francisco as a final stop off at the end of our honeymoon. and really only have one full day [although I'm there for 2 nights]to see the city. Any suggested itinerary? Beasring in mind that funds will probably be quite low at that sstage as we're spending 6 weeks travelling around the world! Cheers guys!

I would suggest Japanese Tea Gardens, Legion of Honor Museum, Museum of Modern Art for romantic spots.

For cheap food, the Mission District is a fun place to walk around and get good latino food. Keep in mind it is not the richest area, but I find it fine to walk around and look at the murals while there.

China town and North Beach are other areas to walk around in that offer cultural diversity, and cheapish, but good food.

Start at the Ferry Building (gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge; fun area to walk through http://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/

Then walk along the waterfront (if you enjoy walking) to Pier39 (and see the sea lions at end of the Pier). http://www.pier39restaurants.com/cam.htm

Then go to Fisherman Wharf. For a relatively inexpensive lunch have a bowl of clam chowder in sourdough bread bowl from Boudin Bakery (great place to watch the bakers bake bread, also.) http://www.boudinbakery.com/

Then continue to explore Fisherman Wharf.

Walk down as far as the Cable Car, and take the Cable Car to Union Squre and walk thorugh some of the storest there.

In the evening, have an inexpensive meal in Chinatown (there are many family friendly - inexpensive places to eat) and then explore the Italian area (right next door to Chinatown.) We like Brandy Ho's http://www.brandyhoshunan.com/

Finish the night by having a beer (or two) at the San Francisco Brewery Company which is in the area. http://www.sfbrewing.com/
