Which is easier to access the BART system with little kids? Flying into SFO or OAK from LAX and then staying in Union Square?

SFO is probably slightly easier since the Bart station is directly by some terminals and for the others you can take the airtrain which comes frequently for transportation between terminals and the Bart station.

Oak isn't bad but requires about a 15 minute bus ride onAirBart to get to the Colosseum Station to take Bart.

How many in your group? There is no youth discount fare* so you might be better off just to get a cab into the city. From SFO the fare is $50-60 depending on where you're going.

* There is a "Red Ticket" for children between 5-12 years old but they can't be purchased at the fare machines. They can be purchased at the Information Booth at baggage claim at all terminals of the airport. $24 of fare for $9. So if used back and forth to the aiport would be about half priced.

Yes you can. There may be one train change depending on where in Oakland you want to be. Check out the route map at www.bart.org.

It is easy to get to either airport on BART. The cost effectiveness of traveling on BART with a group of people is questionable.

Refer to this handy guide for directions: http://www.bart.gov/guide/airport
