Anniversary Dinner - Atmosphere (views) and great food

Will be in San Francisco for 2 nights in June, one our 25th anniversary.

We are not 'foodies' and not fond of French food, but do enjoy high quality food. Just want a special place to celebrate a special occasion. Staying near Fisherman's Wharf so will be taking a cab.

For this night price is not an object.

Recommendations?

Thanks!

There are not many places in SF with views and great food. Waterbar (seafood) and Epic Roasthouse are two. Le Mer is another (Peruvian) although the view isn't spectacular from there as there is a long pier running out into the bay right next to the restaurant.

I would concentrate on the food and the atmosphere and get your views while walking around.

Acquerello is very nice: http://www.acquerello.com/

Also Gary Danko, Jardiniere, Absinthe are others. Even restaurants with a French flair generally do it with a California twist; using fresh and sustainable ingredients, often sourced from local farms.

the standard for high quality food with a fabulous only-in-SF view has for decades been Greens in Ft Mason. A window-filling view of the Golden gate Bridge as the sun sets. It's vegetarian and it could make a vegetarian out of anybody. Not expensive and it even has fairly priced wine.
