When are you coming? BART may potentially go back on strike in early August.

Take BART to Powell St. station. Exit to Powell St (Stockton Street exit is closed). Walk up Powell to Union Square, diagonally through the Square and voila!

[I thought you were here a lot ...?]

RamblinSal...thanks so so much for your speedy help! with appreciation!

We were there in April but flew into and out of OAK and took the BART. We will be in SFO middle of this month but flying into SFO this time. My husband's last visit to San Fran was 10 years ago so he is pretty stoked. Needless to say, my son and I are also pretty excited again to be in a beautiful city with such fantastic cuisine!

You may also like to know that the BART station at the San Francisco airport is attached to the International Terminal. If you come into a domestic terminal, you take the little AirTrain shuttle from domestic to international terminal.

BART automatic fare vending machines take currency or credit cards. There are machines which will give you change, in smaller bills ($5 and $10s) for a twenty dollar bill, too.

Here's a map of SFO. The AirTrain station for BART is called "Garage G/BART." It lets you off right in front of the BART fare machines. www.flysfo.com/web/page/as_airportmaps.htm

There are two International Terminal Stops: A and G. "A" is a long way away from BART and "G" is a bit of walk.

RamblinSal...thanks so much for the Bart info once again. We will be flying United Airlines from Seattle to SFO which will be domestic terminal. Do you know if there is an airport shuttle that takes us from our domestic terminal to the international terminal G to catch BART?

In addition, will there be BART signs at the domestic terminals ? Many thanks once again RamblinSal!

We often stay at the Grand Hyatt in Union Square but take a taxi. Just walk out of baggage claim and get the next one. The rate is around $42 dollars, just an FYI in case Bart is on strike.

The concierge at the Hyatt told us about a $50 Town Car set price that comes to the hotel at the appointed time to return you to SFO. Very nice and comfortable, and they set it up for you.

Cliu If you read Sal's thread about the AirTrain, that is one way to get to the International Term. You can also walk through the connector to the International term and then past security

As with any airport you will see signs for Taxi, BART and other ground transport
