Where to stock up and have lunch between SF and Yosemite ?

Hi,

We are driving from Bush St (Mayflower) in San Fran to Curry Village in 3 weeks (on a Saturday). Any suggestions as to where would be a good place to buy supplies on the way please?

Thankyou.

Supplies, well there are multiple places on that drive. The most convenient is probably the Save Mart in Oakdale. It should be understood that this is a grocery store in its most ordinary sense.

just drove through there yesterday...if you're not picky on food offerings, Manteca has a number of shopping centers right off the highway- we saw a Target, several grocery stores, and lots of fast food restaurants. For more ambiance (but much closer to Yosemite), Groveland has some cute shops and restaurants-- Mexican, pizza, etc.

What kind of :

"supplies" are you talking about? Do you just need snacks for the car ride or do you need food for camping in Yosemite?

Trader Joe's market has drinks, and all sorts of yummy snacks (chips, dried fruit, nuts, etc) - there is one near the Mayflower at California and Hyde or stop at the one at 8th and Bryant on your way to the freeway

I recommend picking up your car and driving out of town right away. No need to stop for supplies then.

The best spot to get food and drinks for Yosemite is either at the Trader Joe's in Pleasanton (right off 580 at Santa Rita Road) or at any number of nondescript grocery stores. In the latter case, I would go to the Save Mart in Oakdale or any number of offerings in Manteca (Safeway and Wal-Mart are right off 120 at Main Street--most convenient).

For lunch, it's probably easiest to stop in Manteca too. Assuming you leave SF around 10 or 10:30, you'll time it right. If not, or if Manteca's offerings don't appeal to you, I would check Yelp for whatever craving you have and pick any place along the way.
