35th Wedding Anniversary Week in SF / March 26 to April 1

My husband and I are traveling to SF for a week. Neither of us have been in this area. We live in the Midwest. We love sighting during the day and eating and drinking at night. We don't plan to stay in the same hotel,we want to do as much as possible and will move hotels as needed. We will have a rental car of course. Any input is greatly appreciated.

well Congrats on the Anniversary. Do you have a specific question. Saying any input is appreciated is just too vague. TA forums work well if people do some research, and come with a first draft of their itinerary based on their likes and dislikes and we can then help

Most take 3-4 days to see SF . Where to stay what to do and why to NOT have a car -- all in the top questions on the right side

Then based on your likes and dislikes Sonoma coast, sonoma valley, Napa valley, Yosemite National park, Monterey Carmel are all within 1-4 hour drive and places like YNP or Monterey/Carmel need at least 2 days

Napa or Sonoma have great B&Bs to relax in as well. So much to do and so little time so please do some research, come back with a sample itinerary and we can help refine it

Please don't!! It will be very expensive to have a car during your visit to San Francisco -- $40/day to rent and the same (or more!) to park. With 6 nights, you have time to visit SF and one other place (4 nights in SF, 2 in Wine Country or Monterey or Yosemite). Rent your car from downtown on the day that you leave, then return it to the airport.

This would make for a disappointing honeymoon! ;-)

Beyond the joke - I hope you're talking about a second destination, such as wine country or other places north or south. You likely wouldn't visit Chicago and switch hotels in the middle, would you?
