SF itinerary-Feb 2014

We will be in SF area from 8 till 16:

We get there late afternoon o 8th and will be leaving at lunch time on 16th.

8- getting to the hotel(mountain view), dinner, sleep

9-bay area, golden gate bridge, golden gate park, disney(?),twin peaks

10-Marin headlands, california academy of sciences, tram ride

11-interview/no sightseeing

12-Napa Valley day(drive, walk, visit wineries)

13-Lombard Street, wharf,night cruise Alcatraz

15-Any ideas???

16-breakfast, leaving.

Does it worth seeing any of the aquariums(from what I have read the reviews are not positive)?

Did i miss any museum which is a must-do?

Could you please take a look at my itinerary and give your opinion please?

Thank you !

May I ask why you are staying in Mountain View to see San Francisco? That is highly inefficient and with your itinerary a LOT of driving back and forth.

As for aquariums, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is world class, and one of the most important research facilities on marine ecosystems in the world.

if you just have one day for the interview then it may make sense to stay in SF as Puter points out for the 3-4 days and cover napa as well and you could move to Mt view and then do Monterey /Carmel from there . But otherwise you are just driving

thanks for the fast reply.

Few of the days are paid by the company my husband will have interview with (so no choice here).

The rest are some deals we found.

I thought we could use the train to SF which is approx 1 hour from what I have read.

In this case maybe it makes more sense to try to find accommodation for the last 2 days in Monterey area?

Thanks for the suggestions.
