"Honky Tonk" area still downtown by Union Square?

A long time ago, they used to have singalong bars and old-fashioned stuff like that on the side streets & major streets around Union Square in San Francisco. Do they still have things like that downtown. We are staying in Union Square. Many thanks for any advice you may have.

You may be thinking of the piano bar at Lefty O'Doul's or the dueling pianos below Johnny Foley's, and both are still there. I'm not aware of any other similar in the area.

Sounds like the Gold Dust (although it was on Powell Street just down from Union Square). It has relocated to Fisherman's Wharf after losing its lease at Union Square.

Lefty O'Doul's still has the singalong piano bar with the perverted Scottish (Irish ??) piano man. It's fun and usually attracts an older crowd.

The restaurant is a worthwhile place to eat also.

Thank both of you so much. Johnny Foley's is still there with music & all. It looks like great fun.
