1 night in San Fran

Will be in vegas and thinking about flying up to San Fran for 1 night, will land early morning and leave following eve.

Want to o Alcatraz and cycle golden gate! Typical touristy things! Can you reccomend reasonably prices hotels nearest to all this, the harbour is this where I should be looking?

Many thanks

For Alcatraz and the GG Bridge, you probably want to look in the North Beach area.

There aren't many hotels in the North Beach area but Fisherman's wharf would be walking distance from Alcatraz and the start of the bike ride to the GG bridge. One night in San Francisco abbreviated as SF. ?

What does "reasonable" mean to you in dollars? Check the Columbus Motor Inn on Columbus. It's on the fringe of Fisherman's Wharf and about a mile (maybe a little less) from North Beach, which is where I would recommend for dinner (meaning, don't eat at the Wharf).

Book Alcatraz way in advance as it always sells out. Check our Top Questions for one with all the dirt on Alcatraz.

San Franciscans are a lovely and congenial bunch but we're rather fussy about what our city is called. San Fran kind raises the hackles. SF is a fine abbreviation but when speaking please use the full name. Or just "the city."
