Parking in the Mission District...

Will I have trouble finding on-street parking (be it free or paid for) in the Mission District (in the vicinity of Mission and 25th) on an early Thursday afternoon?

Thank you.

As a rule, never expect to find street parking - and if you do, it's likely to be highly regulated, with limited hours.

Always have a garage as a back-up - …bestparking.com/neighborhoods/mission-distr…

You really don't want a car in San Francisco, but you must have your reasons. I certainly wouldn't rent a car to get around London.

It's metered parking. Shouldn't be a problem

Yes, you will have diificulty. There are very few parking lots available. Street parking will be scarce.

Here is an app for parking lots and rates

Take a bus, or BART to 24th St Station and save yourself time and aggravation.

Use the Quick Planner at

There aren't any parking garages In this area, just parking meters, on Mission St, but if you look a few blocks off Mission you can usually find a spot without a Meter. Your best bet is BART, unless you're travelling around the City or carrying heavy purchases.

At that time of day you may be ok. You may have to circle some, and be prepared to park blocks away from where you want to be. But in my mind it's not an insurmountable task. Worst case, park in the garage at 21st and Valencia.

If you are willing to walk a little, you can probably find parking. I have found either meter parking or residential parking closer to the Cesar Chavez Blvd (sorry it's still Army St to me!) end of the Mission even on the weekend.

If going there for lunch stop at La Taqueria at 25th & Mission, I worked around the corner for 3 years and was there for lunch almost everyday. If you have any space to ea some m ore afterward stop at Dianda's for dessert.
