Would like to see Sausalito, Muir Woods then Bodega Bay to Jenner ( coastal route 1) and Healdsburg for the night.please let me know if this route is do able to get to Healdsburg for dinner. We would like to see little bit of the coast making it separate trip.

It's less than 2 hours from the airport to Healdsburg. However, parking at Muir could be problematic. What time of year and day of the week will this be? You might be better off going to Armstrong Woods in Sonoma county rather than Muir.

Here's a "Day Trip North" written by forum regular and Sonoma native Puter that you can tailor for this route. tripadvisor.com/Travel-g60713-c139373/San-Fr…

As White Dahlia said, parking at Muir can be a problem. Also, Armstrong Grove is on your way to Healdsburg and you won't find crowds or tour buses there....a much better experience.

The Day Trip she gave you a link to, gives directions for most of your trip, including the Sonoma Coast above Bodega Bay. It also includes mileage, so you can plan your time. You will want to dip down into Sausalito after you cross the Golden Gate Bridge, and then, later. after you visit Armstrong Grove, instead of staying on 116 to Sebastopol, stay on River Road and then take Westside Road into Healdsburg, about 17 miles. The trip does not go north on Hwy 1 from the Golden Gate Bridge, but goes to Petaluma and then joins Hwy 1 at Bodega Bay. The reason for this is that after Point Reyes Hwy 1 goes inland until Bodega Bay, so you would not be on the coast. It also saves time, and the road from Petaluma to Bodega is a pretty one through pastoral country.

You should be able to get to Healdsburg in plenty of time for dinner, with time left over, depending upon what you stop to do and see. I think you would enjoy this route. If you have questions about it, please ask..
