Transportation to SFO

We have had a wonderful trip to wine country and the city and will be heading to the airport tomorrow. I am traveling with my older parents, so we will need to take a shuttle or taxi service out to the airport. Are there any companies that come recommended? I have had some scary taxi rides in the past and would like to avoid that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I personally have generally used Super Shuttle, since it is a big company with the coverage of a big company. Other people may have other preferences.

The fares are $15-25 depending on where you will be picked up. The fares are per person, unlike a cab which is per trip.

We're glad you enjoyed coming here with your parents and hope you can visit us again. When you get home, please post about some of your experiences!

Get a taxi - the San Francisco drivers are generally quite good - Super Shuttle is OK - but can pick up other passengers on the way. BART is OK if you have time and no luggage.

Taxi will certainly be a better bargain- as you split the total three ways- with the shuttle you must pay per person. There's no guarantee with any driver (shuttle or taxi) but we found most rides not scary at all. I'd put my faith in the taxi.
