Help...Chinatown parking-Kearny realistic?

We're going to visit Chinatown today, our first time, we want to use the car, is parking at the Portsmouth Square Garage on Kearny realistic around 3pm or so? We only have 1 day in San Francisco, staying at a hotel in South San Francisco for the night.

crap shoot on a saturday afternoon. very busy time, but you coud get lucky. you could park at the embarcadero area and walk up to chinatown pretty easily. there's a garage under the embarcedero center that's pretty available on weekends, plus you might find relatively easy street parking in the financial district on a saturdya. it's all pretty close-so size up the portsmouth square situation and if it's full, take those other options.

I don't think you will have a problem getting into the Portsmouth Square Garage today. Parking on the southern side of Chinatown is always available at the Sutter-Stockton garage.

Another option is the garage across from the police station on Vallejo between Stockton and Powell.
