Rent a VW Van in SF

Hello!

I am planning a 4th of July weekend bachelorette road trip from SF to Monterrey as am trying to look for a volkswagon van to rent to make the drive down fun.

Anyone have any ideas on where to find one to rent for the weekend?

Thanks!

Not sure. You need to find a classic car rental service that specializes in maintaining a fleet of old cars.

Regular rental car companies have a certain mile threshold after which they sell cars, since manufacturer warranties are usually based on total mileage. That is, most used cars depreciate even more after they pass 120,000 miles since almost everything in the car is coming up for replacement or rebuild, but is out of warranty which then becomes very expensive. Plus parts become harder to find for older cars.

There are some classic VW campervans for rent, but you can't fit very many people in them for travel. And the rental locations are not in San Francisco.

Yes, you'd definitely have to go with some sort of classic car rental company.
