Ideas for things to do with kids in Harpers Ferry?

We are camping nearby for four days and are thinking of rounding things off with a night or two in HF with our 3 and 6 year old daughters. Thoughts on places to stay or things to do would be appreciated. Also, any pointers re Harpers Ferry versus Frederick MD? Both would be convenient for our post-camping trip.

Start with the Harpers Ferry website for an overview of area and things to do.

besides town, there is bike riding, long walks and hiking, kayaking.

You are in civil war territory so not sure what the kids like but the re enactments are fun. Also, very close to antietam which may not interest kids historically but is a great place to let them run around.

If you come into Frederick Rose Hill Manor is fun for kids. Cunningham Falls too.

Harpers Ferry flea mkt is a great giant yard sale to go to for an hour of something different.
