October trip

I have an oportunity to travel in October (15-25).

My traveling will take me to Zion, Bryce, Arches

Capitol reef and Antelope Canyon . I have been to

Zion and Bryce before, and welcome seeing them

again. I am mainly most excited to see Antelope

Canyon (morning trip) and the Arches park. These 2 locations

are why I am going. I plan to

take photos while there. My question is, the weather that

late into October. I don't mind cold, or snow flurries

(could be pretty)- - - -but am I likely to encounter all day heavy

rains? (Where I am from, Maryland, October is lovely.

But I don't want to be foolish booking travel if this is

not a good time to go, just because in my schedule this fits well)

You shouldn't have any significant weather issues. Yes, it may be cooler and snow is possible, although not all that likely. We visit a lot in October and it's a great time. All day rains are really rare. We've never experienced one in October. I surely wouldn't make your decision around that.

Have fun.

We often visit Utah that time of year. Unless you are unlucky weather will be fine. Must say on one of those trips we had an all rainy day between Moab and Bryce but on other occasions blue skies. We had little snow in Bryce.

We were there at the same time in Oct 2011 and the weather was fantastic. No rain, clear skies, temps around mid 70's during the day and 40-50's during the night. If I go again, it will be in mid OCT. The LaSalle mtns had some snow for 1 day out of the 10 we were there. Bryce had snow a few days before we got there and then when we were in Bryce, the temps were in the 70's. Absolutely nice weather.
