October visit - weather?

Planning on visiting Asheville first full weekend in October. Is weather usually nice enough for being outdoors?

Thanks for your reply. Planning on staying just outside of downtown. Is parking downtown easy? I see there are quite a few garages and the cost seems reasonable.

there are 3 public garages in addition to on-street metered parking. first weekend of October should be pleasant, could be either rainy or hot, unlikely to be cold.

October provides the most incredible sunsets and starry night skies. Try to plan a night to get away from light pollution of the city - north up the Blue Ridge Parkway would work. It's breathtaking.

Parking isn't tough - the meters cut off at 6PM and the parking garages are free the first hour.
