If you want upscale first class I would stay at Grove Park Inn. Downtown Hotel Indigo is the best and Residence's is the best if you stay near Biltmore. JMO.

Grove Park Inn @ 290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina 800 - 438 - 5800.

Hotel Indigo @ 151 Haywood Street, Asheville, NC 828 - 239 - 0239.

Residence's at The Biltmore @ 700 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 828 - 350 - 8000

This is all based on opinion. #1 is The Inn on Biltmore Estate, which lies on their grounds. Not bad but very expensive.

The Residences at Biltmore is #3. Nice place. Full concierge service, full kitchens, washer/dryer/fireplaces, high quality amenities. Best for long-term stay or large families.

Grove Park Inn is expensive, though the views are outstanding and it is a historic hotel.
