    pet friendly vacation rental in/near asheville

    pet friendly vacation rental in/near asheville

    Hi, we'll be visiting Asheville area for the first time in late september, driving down from Phila area with our dogs. we're looking for advice on where to rent a house/cottage/cabin so that we can easily get into town but also hve a place to walk dogs,near lake, stream etc.

    also, what is best driving route down. mapquest or yahoo shows down 95 to dc then west to 81 down to asheville...is that the easiest way or are there other suggestins. I think we'll want to stop overnight the way down and then probably drive straight through on the way back.

    I would suggest taking I-95 to I-85 (connects South of Richmond in Petersburg) then take I-85 to Durham, NC where it connects up to I-40. I-40 will take you straight into Asheville. I believe 81 would be slower going. I take this way when visiting family in the Richmond area. It take about 6 to 6 1/2 hours from Richmond to Asheville.

    I am not sure of places that will allow dogs. A lot of the hotels have pet-friendly room, but you will probably just need to call and see.
