boston with kids

thanks, those sound like good alternatives. Regarding the freedom trail, is it all a walking tour with things close together, and how long on average does it take. Could we pick & choose or is there one entry fee for all? Thanks!

hi Jayhawk6,

It is a 100 percent walking tour. 2 and a half miles to be exact. It should take about an hour and a half. For more info go to

freedomtrail.org.

Also, the Museum of Science is a good take with kids. mos.org.

And don't forget the New England Aquarium. neaq.org.

Where are you staying? All of these could be walkable from your hotel. If not, the subway, or "T" as we call it, will take you anywhere.

go to mbta.com for fares, maps, and schedules.

The freedom trail sounds good as well as the aquarium. We would like to stay close to these attractions so that we could walk. Is the downtown Boston area a good place to stay, or is it better to outside the city a bit? Thanks for the help.

I would recommend staying right in the city. The only downfall will be if you have a car as it is expensive to park. In addition to previously mentioned sites to visit, if you want to do something in the evening your teens will enjoy Blue Man Group or Shear Madness.
