Im traveling with two more friends we are coming from Mexico and really dont know much about boston but we plan to live there for 6 months i am going to arrive on Monday 5th march around 6pm we need a really cheap place to spend the night and then in the morning we need to go check out some apartments

any recomendations well be great as well as security tips, or any other kind

Check out craigslist.org for apartment rentals. There's a section for subletting. You could probably get a 3-bedroom for easily under $2,000/month. If you don't plan on having a car with you for those six months, make sure you're new apartment is close to public transportation.

As for your one night in the city, I'd opt for a budget hotel by the airport. It's not like you're here to sight-see.

Boston is a safe city, generally speaking. Duing the day, you're pretty much not going to have a problem anywhere you go. Use common sense. Always stay with your buddies at night. If you find yourself a little lost just hop in a cab rather than try to navigate a strange city late at night. Good luck.
