Just to add we are a soppy young (ish!) couple who like romantic locations and history.

Food wise we are open to everything with our favourites being steaks, Italian etc. Open to any suggestions!

Your itinerary sounds fine, you will be busy. I don't see the Museum of Fine Arts in your list, or the Gardner Museum. If you like art museums, both of those are a must do. You might also like to add the Mapparium at the Christian Science headquarters. It's a fascinating and unique part of history.

For your anniversary dinner, you might want to try Top of the Hub, at the top of the Prudential building, next to the skywalk. It's got good food, amazing views, and very romantic if you tell them it's an anniversary, hopefully they will seat you next to a window.

For Italian you must go eat in the North End at least once. Loads of places to choose from. If you search the forum here, there are endless discussions. My favorites at the moment are Massimino's, Cantina Italiana, La Summa, Limoncello and Mamma Maria. Mamma Maria is also a very romantic place, so it might be good for an anniversary dinner.

For steaks, you should look at Mooo, Boston Chops, Ruth's Chris, Smith and Wollensky, Abe and Louie's, or the Capital Grille.

Library was beautiful, I'm not into libraries, but it really was nice. Outside Courtyard in the library would b nice for a picnic/lunch

Fenway for baseball is a definite! Was a highlight of our trip

Grill 23 was delicious for steak but not cheap! It was recommended to us by someone who had been before so we tried it

I would reconsider the whale watch. In November, most of the whales have already headed south and spottings are rare, plus it will be quite cold out on the open water.

Harpoon Brewery is in the Seaport area, close to several very good restaurants. I prefer it over the Sam Adams tour.

Wedding anniversary with no kids does call for a good bit of intimacy! ;)

Good plan, I agree that the whale watch is better done in summer, due to chance of success and especially comfort out there on winter seas.

You won't find much in the way of refreshments at the "Cheers" bar. The outside looks like the TV shots in the opening. The inside looks like a place to buy T shirts and shot glasses.

ThNanks for your feedback guys x oooops, yes intimacy will be a given lol well maybe not after all the walking....

Gutted to hear the whale watch may not be successful. It's the one thing I have had my heart set on (that and a trip to Salem, as a midwife I appreciate my heritage as a suspected witch!) The cold doesn't bother us at all, we holiday in winter times as are not sun worshippers!

Off to google all the restaurant suggestions!

Thanks again

Bit of an annoying update that may change our itinairy

In the past three weeks I have broken two toes (2 weeks apart...) and now pulled a muscle in my other foot. Nothing will stop me enjoying our time away! So is there any top tips for getting around and still seeing as much as we can?

I understand I will have to slow down and rest them lots, so certain things will have to be dropped. Can we do the freedom trial on public transport?

Thanks in advance
