Whale watching in June

Hi

We are travelling to Boston this Thursday with our 16 month old son. We are travelling on down to the Cape after a few days in Boston. Would you recommend a whale watching trip with a toddler. My husband and I would love to go on a trip like that but would it be too much for a toddler?

Also in Boston are there any particular places which might entertain a 16 month old.

Any advice would be welcome!

Frm a toddler's perspective, a whale watch is all sitting. If you think he (or she) will take 4 hours of sitting, then go for it. I don't think they'd recognize a whale from the boat. They will, however, at the Aquarium. That may be one place you can all enjoy.

Also, go the Public Garden and feed the ducks. Oh, my. Did I say that?? Never mind, but do go on the Swan Boats. A toddler can easily tolerate them and it's pretty short.

I agree that 4 hours on a boat is too much for a little one---or could be.

If you want to go on the harbor but don't have the stomach for a long WW cruise, you can go for a harbor cruise or go see George's Island. If you do take a toddler on any of the big boats, be aware that they blow the horn just before leaving port. It's a loud startling sound that can terrify small children if they're sitting up on deck near the horn.

The Swan Boats are a MUST. Get the book "Make Way for Ducklings" and go see the duck statues, too!

The Children's Museum has lots of fun stuff for toddlers.
