Is best route through or around Boston?

We'll be staying in Rockland - heading to Ogunquit and Camden the next day (a Wednesday). How late should we plan on leaving to miss the worst of the traffic, and what do you think will be our best route?? Getting around Boston is the only thing that worries me about our New England trip!

Your best route is throught the city. From Rockland, head north on Rte 3. to Rte 93 North. this will take you into Boston and through the O'Neill Tunnel. As you near the end of the tunnel get into the far LEFT lane to get onto Rte 1 North. Follow Rte 1 North for 10 miles or so to Rte 95 North. 95 North will take you into Maine.

Best time to leave? I'd say 10am. The morning rush hour should be cleared out of the city by then.
