My lunch recommendation would be Neptune Oyster in the North End.

For brunch, I'd head to the South End for a wealth of options: Masa, Toro, Tremont 647, Metropolis, Union and Stella, to name a few.

Neptune oyster is a good choice. Also, there are lots of pubs that serve very good lobster rolls (and whole boiled lobster as well). Several are located near Faneuil Hall on Union Street.

As far as Hook Lobster and Yankee Lobster, I really wouldn't class either as anything approaching a restaurant. If you're only going for the food, I suupose they would do, but there are certainly many other better places at the same price point.

These places look great...they don't look like they are on Newbury Strret where we will be on Saturday afternoon. Am I mistaken? I'll double check them.

Thanks

I guess the definition of causul varies.. If you happen to be near hook, the lobster roll is as good as it gets. It would have to be a nice day, for you would have to sit outside. The prices are very good as well.

Yankee lobster has inside seating and again, casual. The chowder here is very good. The fish stew is also very good.

For Sunday Brunch:

Top of the Hub offers a nice brunch.

For a cheaper option:

The Tavern in the Square in Central Square (Cambridge) for Sunday brunch. You can stop about a half-mile up the street from Central Square at the MIT museum (MIT museum is free on Sunday mornings from 10-12) before brunch.

For Saturday lunch, check out either Atlantic Fish Co on Boylston Street, or Summer Shack on Dalton St. Both are very close to Newbury Street. If you are on the Boston Common end of your walk at lunch time, check out Kinsale. It may not have *every* item you listed, but it will have most, and will have casual vibe you seek I think.

Hook's has an OK lobster roll (not the best), which is OK if you're in the area, but not worth a detour for. Plus, they don't serve any of the other items you request. Yankee Lobster has good prices, but is not worth the way-out detour, given your limited time in town.

For Sunday brunch, I'm a big fan of Metropolis.

Hmm. People seem to be sending you all over. For lunch on/near Newbury street, check out the following on-line and then decide:

http://www.stephaniesonnewbury.com/lunch.html (ON Newbury)

http://www.skipjacks.com/ (one block over from Newbury)

Summer Shack is probably the most casual restaurant near Newbury that's been suggested. Both restaurants above can be casual for lunch though. Stephanie's is a Newbury St. institution. Unfortunately, there are no cheap lobster rolls that I know of in the Back Bay area (I work there so I'd know if there were!!) Everything is "market price" which generally means expensive.

I have not been there so take this with a grain of salt-but I have read good things about Trident Booksellers & Cafe at 338 Newbury St.
