Boston Transit system and my Feb 14-18 visit

FABULOUS. They have a great website:

www.mbta.com

maps, route planners, service advisories.

Also, I found it very helpful to print out google maps

www.maps.google.com

...for the various areas (such as Museum of Fine Arts). Zoom in so you can see the T (subway) stops in the map and the street names.

I already had a Charlie Card so I just added $20...otherwise I would have gotten the weekly pass for $15. If you take more than 10 rides its definitely worth it.

I've been here since Monday 2/14. Leaving 11am.

Fenway Park Tour

Museum of Fine Arts

Science museum (and Imax movie on whales)

JFK Museum (been there before)

walked thru the Prudential center shopping "mall" . Resisted temptations....I did get a Boston mug in Starbucks.

Meals were hit and miss -- in no particular order

Lunch - Cheesecake Factory (very good)

Lunch: Bertuccis (very good steak sandwich)

Lunch: MFA (not cheap but delicious)

Dinner: Le Petit Robert Bistro (good)

Dinner: Bertucci's (just a salad with chicken - ok)

Dinner: G'vannis (I had a coupon. it was just ok...but they sent a car for me and drove me back to hotel!!!)

Dinner last night: I actually went to Wagamama and got takeout - chicken dumplings and RIBS. It was DELICIOUS.

Where did you eat at the MFA..? Just curious. I went with a friend during an open house a few weeks ago..and the place she wanted to eat at had a very limited menu and the only thing on it I could eat was the soup. ( it was very good, but expensive!)

Also..I'm glad you liked the T and I love their updated website. The trip planner feature is fabulous and takes away all of the guesswork.

miscricket, it was the resto next to the Scharf visitor center (New american cafe): I had soup, salad and iced tea, and with tip it was about $20-22.

Here's the Museum floor plan for floor 1:

the trip planner wasnt up to date. I checked every morning before I left hotel. The FIRST day I TRIED to go to the science Museum, the train only went to North Station and there were shuttle busses and MBTA personnel to direct you. I couldnt find the shuttle bus or MBTA personnel (so that was the day I went to MFA - always have a back-up plan!).

Karen,

I just took a peek at your pictures, and I must say they came out really nice. May I ask what type of camera you have?
