Father/Son Trip II

We’re off to Boston again on 4/28-5/1. We arrive at noon on 4/28, plan to have lunch then check into the Back Bay Hotel. Would like to get some good ideas for the Back Bay area, we stayed at the Bull Finch last time and spent most of our time at Faneuil Hall, Freedom Trail & Salem for a morning. Planning on a Red Sox game this time and thought about Chinatown for dinner one night. My son is 14 now so looking for some things he would like as well. Plan to get the 7 day MBTA pass again, was in Salem early March last time, thought about taking the train back there possibly.

Did you visit the Museum of Science on your last visit? Did you take a Boston Duck Tour, Visit the USS Constitution and/or Climb the Bunker Hill Monument? All of the above might interest the two of you.

The week you are here, there's the Cambridge Science Festival. Check out the link to see if any of the events might interest you....

For a start, lunch at Champions over at the mariott.

A tour of the state house.

If you are a Braves fan, a walk by where the Boston Braves used to play.

You might enjoy a night out to see Blue Man Group. Peach Farm is forum favorite in Chinatown. NO atmosphere but good food.

Enjoy!

Blue Man Group is a good suggestion.

Also, the Planeterium (sp?) at the Museum of Science has been totally upgraded and gone digital. There are some shows that sound interesting there. I am meaning to get there myself.

The Aquarium is fun for all ages.

Also, with or without the Cambridge Science Festival, spend some time in Harvard Square.

If your son is into science, geography etc. he might enjoy The Mapparium -- a "walk through the middle of the earth" display at the Mary Baker Eddy Library at the Christian Science Center near the intersection of Massachusetts and Huntington Avenues.....

This website explains it far better than I can...

How's his swing? We might be able to use him on the field.

Well, it sounds like a Fenway Park guided tour is right up his alley if you haven't done that already.
