We never recommend a car as parking can be expensive. The places you'd like to visit can easily be reached by taking the T (the MBTA, our public transit system.)

As for restaurants, there are plenty. Any particular food in mind?

From what you posted, you don't need a car.

Try Yankee Lobster for lunch, it is an easy walk from your hotel. For breakfast, try the drydock cafe which is also within walking distance. Check their website to see their hours.

There is also a new Legals in the area and on the water, as well as several other new places.

If just two of you, I would try Carmen in the North end, next to Paul Revere's house.
