Best beach B/T Boston and Cape Ann?

I have relatives coming from Colorado this week.

They have never been to the ocean!

I am planning a beach day with them on Thursday 8/18 (Rain likely for rest of week)

My first thought is Good Harbor in Gloucester -this gets us close to Rockport for food and Halibut Point later that day.

I don't know what the crowds will be at Singing Beach. I hear the parking fee is quite high there.

My go-to usual beaches are on Swampscott Marblehead line: Phillips and Devereaux

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

"Between" cape ann and boston, I'd tend to say Nahant beach.

"On" cape ann, gloucester or ipswitch?

I suppose if you wanted to show them two completely different coastlines in the same day, you could go to Good Harbor and Halibut Point. I think Singing Beach is the nicest beach in the area, however, although I haven't been there in years.

I'm not sure you can even park at Singing Beach -- there is tiny parking, think it's for locals. But people do walk there from the town center, and it's only about 6 blocks or so, and pleasant.

I like Wingarsheek Beach although I don't think I can spell it!

Here's a link to parking information for Singing Beach:

Like MaxieLu, I also enjoy Wingaersheek (you almost had it right, MaxieLu ;-) , but if I were showing "inlanders" a beach, I would probably choose Crane in Ipswich (though parking is expensive). You'd still be close to Rockport--I love Halibut Point, btw, and often take visitors there.

I have to go with Route128North on this one. Crane Beach is probably more like what they've always "dreamed" a beach to be. Swing by Rockport and then they can see typical, rocky, New England coastline too!
