The Fireworks

Is it possible to watch the fireworks from the corners of Arlington and Beacon, in the Public Gardens?

Fingers still crossed for the room we are waiting for confirmation on but is on Copley Sq.

Thanks!

I have to say, you won't get a great view from that street corner, with trees and buildings there.

If you are planning to be that close already, do yourself a favor and walk another 5 minutes to the Longfellow Bridge. Walk up onto the Boston-Bound side of the bridge and you will get a completely clear, completely unobstructed view of the fireworks over the Charles.

Yeah, it all depends upon buildings and trees. Worth a try, but not sure. The middle of the Public Garden might actually be better, or from the high point on the Boston Common, just to get some height.

Cross your fingers the weather holds up!

Thanks- didn't even think of the trees being in the way. Is Storrow overly crowded? ( toe to toe? I am a bit senstive to strangers touching me)

Went to that side of the river about 3 years back --storrow drive side- was claustrophobic. Weather may play a factor however

If you don't like strangers touching you, then stick to your original plan. You're going to have to give up the great view for the space. Storrow is no doubt crowded but the view is fine. You'll get crowds on the memorial drive side and mass ave bridge.

Post script - the fireworks were delayed yesterday due to unstable weather conditions, ESP. Lightening. Many were encouraged to leave the area to go to safer areas. The CBS feed during that time was prerecorded from the July 3 rehearsal, then when the weather "stabilized", the fireworks were sent up. Watching the tv as well as the outside from a balcony across the harbor and odepending on where you were, the clouds, the rain, the smoke combined into a veil over the fireworks. The best view was from the tv helicopter hovering to the side even with the mist and rain drops on the camera lenses. I do not remember such a problem with the weather in so many years!!
