Globus vacation

We, me and my wife are planning a 15 day globus package of eastern USA and Canada with an extended stay at Newyork in late September 2012. Our itinerary include

Boston, Franconia Notch, Québec City, Montréal, Ottawa,Toronto, Niagara Falls, Lancaster, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Newyork

1. What's ur opinion on Globus?

2. How will be the weather? What should I pack?

Hi, I have no experience with Globus, but in terms of what to pack I would suggest layers - a combination of clothing for both colder & warmer temps. You will be going north first which will have an autumn chill in the evening so you may need a fleece jacket or sweater. The last time I was in Toronto, it was October and it was warm & sunny during the day but cool enough in the evening to wear a jacket & long pants. But, you are also heading south to Washington DC where it is likely to be still quite warm in September. also, bring a rain jacket.

You will not need any heavy winter clothing/coats at that time of year, but at some times you may need jackets/sweaters. Washington, DC should be pretty warm and even here in Boston we can get some warm days then. So, you may want to bring some summer-like things, too, such as short sleeve shirts.

you will have better luck getting opinions on Globus from folks in India than locally.

for clothes, think layers. Expect 50's-80's with clear, dry, wet, windy, weather.

Mujeeb123,

Weather - New England weather is unpredictable and so you got to be prepared for everything. Since you are coming from more warmer Kerala/Gulf region(??), you might feel this ideal or chilly. Just to give an idea - Normal weather will be something like weather in Munnar or Kodai in the Winter nights.

Globus - No, I have not travelled with Globus. So no personal experiences.

Globus is mainly European chain focusing on Grand Europe tours. I doubt they will be directly operating the tour in US. So do not expect Globus branded buses driving around, but I am guessing they have a good local ground staff & arrangements in US. Considering the distances, expect to spend lot of time in the Bus.

I have traveled with Globus-Bolivia and Peru.Globus does a nice job of escorting a tour.Good hotels, food, activities. On a Globus tour you are actually on a guided tour. You get what you pay for.

Just got back yesterday from a Globus Tour of the Western US Parks (Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole, Cody, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse- EXCELLENT. The trip was very well organized. The Tour Director was very knowledgeable of the destinations and provided valuable insights to scenic spots, including history, plant life, and animals. We saw the best of the best. The bus driver was an expert in managing the bus through traffic and "tight" places. The meals provided were average - always several choices. Hotels: All were excellent when not in a federal park. I highly recommend this particular trip and Globus.
