One day in Boston; need Excellent Seafood Restaurant

My family is visiting Boston for a wedding. Will only be there for one full day an night. Would like to eat lobster and/or oysters at an excellent restaurant near the Boston Common. Suggestions? (no children, price is not really a consideration) Will also be near Red Roof Inn at Boston-Logan during Breakfast/Brunch time.

Cannot think of any top notch seafood places near the Boston Common. Island Creek Oyster Bar is excellent and it is near Fenway Park.

Island Creek is easy to get to by subway from the Common area. Green Line to Kenmore.

Neptune Oyster is good, but it is small and doesn't take reservations. However, they will call your celll when they are ready for you. You could explore the North End (Italian neighborhood) while you're waiting.

Atlantic Fish on Boylston St. in the Back Bay is good.

If you go to Island Creek Oyster Bar, and I think it's a good choice, do make a reservation.

Oceanaire is a high end seafood restaurant, and though it is part of a chain, I have found it very good. Nice atmosphere and excellent food. It is on Court St., right off of Tremont. theoceanaire.com/locations/…Locations.aspx

I also like Atlantic Fish Co.

Just want to point out that the Red Roof Inn Boston-Logan is on Route 1 in Saugus about 10 miles from Boston. You probably know this, but sometimes the suburban hotels with Boston in the name mislead folks.

Do you have a better suggestion for a hotel close to the airport? The wedding we are going to is in Newburyport on Friday night . Our plan is to go to Boston Common on Saturday, stay in a hotel reasonably close to the airport that night and them eat brunch Sunday morning and fly out at 12:00 noon. Maybe the Red Roof at Boston Logan was not a good choice? We have a full month so we can change it it necessary.

Downtown is a very short distance from the Airport, so you can actually stay near Boston Common and have an easy ride to the Airport. The Omni Parker House, Nine-Zero and Four Seasons are all adjacent to the Common. A block back are the Park Plaza, Ritz Carleton and Hyatt Downtown Crossing.

Saugus is nor really super close to either Newburyport or to Logan. Did you pick it because it is sort of in the middle?
