south station/ travel from logan to worcester

Hi. I am traveling from Logan Airport to worcester. My questions are:

1. According to the MBTA website, I can take the silver line (bus) to south station and take a train to worcester. I will have 5 minutes to get from the bus to the train. Is this enough time? how far is the walk, and are there any tips on how to get there fast? can i buy the ticket ahead of time at the airport

2. is there a faster way to get from logan to worcester?

thanks.

jen

You can take Peter Pan (bus) from Boston Logan to Worcester. Takes between 2-3 hours and I think there is one connection.

You can make it from the Silver Line to the Worcester commuter train in under 5 minutes, though you might be cutting it close. You can buy your commuter rail ticket at the airport kiosks. Or you can pay for the commuter rail once you are on the train to Worcester, though there will be a $3 surcharge.

I don't know the exact rates, but a couple of Worcester based limo services offer shared/ shuttle van service to your door from Logan. It might be an option. Depending on the number of passengers it takes about 1 and 1/2 to two hours, but you are at your final destination.

perhaps it would be better to cab it to south station and just catch the train. my flight arrives at 2:20, and the next train to worcester is 4:05. That would probably give me a longer time at south station, since I won't check bags. Thoughts?

I don;t quite get your original question about 5 minutes to catch the Worcester train. According to you, your flight gets in at 2:20 and the train to worcester is 4:05. You can figure about a half hour to go from the Airport to South Station, which leaves you plenty of time. So where's the 5 minutes?

Silver line will be faster than what to South Station? That's the only alternative other than a taxi.
