Nine zero hotel area safety

Just when we decided to stay at the Nine Zero I read that the area is pretty deserted at night. How safe is the area? Thanks!

It's fine. You can't listen to everybody. Just use your normal street smarts wherever you are.

It's not deserted and it's on a main road. You shouldn't have any worries.

I just read online that the Downtown Crossing area is sketchy. It seems to be very close to this hotel by looking a a map. Thanks for all the input though. Its always better to hear from people who know!

Your hotel is on Tremont, which, as the other poster said, is a main road that will have cars passing and people walking by, even at night. It is a great location, along a part of the Freedom Trail. Downtown Crossing is a few blocks away. It is a popular retail area with lots of shops that has some pedestrian-only walkways during the day. I wouldn't call it sketchy. Late at night, when the stores are closed, it is pretty dead, but you really would have no reason to go there then.

The Nine Zero is between the Omni Parker House and the large new building housing Suffolk University Law School. There are always people walking around in the evening.

Downtown Crossing was pretty quiet at night a few years ago but about 10 new restaurants have opened in the past few years and it has become a destination again. Here's a link to a map of restaurants: downtownboston.org/things-to-do-downtown/…all

Just saying, there are two churches near there. However, go where you see people. Late night for solo females in the North End has been cautioned since there were a few problems a while ago. If in doubt, take a cab for late night restaurant going.
