North End Takeout

Has anyone had good experiences getting their from restaurants in the north end? I'm traveling with a large group that includes two toddlers and a pregnant wife. Somehow I think that stuffing or whole group in a small restaurant is going to be tough. Obviously I'm thinking Italian, but open to other possibilities. I'll be feeding 7 adults and 2 kids.

For one of your dinners, I would simply order some pizzas from Pizzeria Regina on Thatcher Street.

You can also try something a little more casual like Joe's Grill and Bar, which has a big menu and sits right on the Harbor.

If you're not making reservations wherever you go, you really need to go at off times. Maybe with the toddlers that would be forced to happen anyway.

We have a bunch of food delivery services in Boston. Some of these work with restaurants that don't normally do take out. You go online, choose what you want from the menus and they deliver it to you.

I've used Foodler, gubhub and dining in.

Some places offer discount and free delivery on some services. These will also let you look at menus.

Oh and I've also done take out from Artu. You can stop into the bar and the bartender will take care of it for you. They do a great lamb sandwich and all the typical Italian dishes.

Awesome suggestions. We'll be staying on Battery Street by the Old North Church. Ordering pizza is definitely a possibility. I'll have to look into those delivery services, BostonZest. We're renting a couple of apartments for a few days, so we have plates and silverware and all that. Even with reservations, dining out with toddlers sucks. Also, I hate being in large groups at small restaurants (makes me claustrophobic).

It's also very probable that we'll be eating at odd hours. We're all traveling from Seattle, and we won't be in town long enough to get used to the time change...flexibility is the key.

Sorry, I meant LoConte for dining in. It's pretty spacious and they've allowed me to bring in a stroller. No chance of that happening at Regina.

To follow up On when I suggested Regina's I meant that as a takeout possibility. Aside from there being no room inside for strollers, the bathroom is pretty tiny too.
