Boston & Berklee College of Music -July 2013

We are going to Boston in July to visit the College of Music. I would like a suggestion for a place to stay for 5 people (4 nights).

We are not planning to rent a car. Will it be easy to find public transportation from the suggested hotel?

Thanks a lot!

You won't need a car. To get around you can walk, take the mbta, or hail a cab. You may want to check out hotels in Copley square area. Challenge will be if you want 5 people in one room.

I like 463 Beacon Street Guest House, which is within walking distance of Berklee. It's not fancy and it's small (you'd probably need more than one room), but you can't beat it for convenience and price: http://www.463beacon.com/

Hotels very close to Berklee include Back Bay Hilton, The Colonnade, Sheraton Boston, The Eliot, Marriott Copley Place, Westin Copley. As Mahj noted, getting 5 people in a room might be a problem. You will have to call around. Anywhere you find in downtown neighborhoods that will take 5 will be fine as it's very easy to get around by subway.

What is your budget? There is a very nice "budget" hotel called the Oasis Guest House, which is about a block away from Berklee.

Another "budget" motel choice very close by Berklee is the Midtown Hotel. It's also about a 5 minute walk to Berklee

We always enjoyed the Marriot Copley. You will not need a car. You can take the subway (MBTA). Cabs and busses too. Newbury St. is behind Berklee and has lots of eating places and nice shops. Go to the North End for Italian. Boston is a great walking town. It's a wonderful place to go to college. Berklee is a great music school and your student will have a great education there.
