Battle of Bunker Hill

Thinking of visiting the monument area on the 16th June specifically to watch the parade. Is it worth seeing? How long does it all last and is there any one thing we shouldn't miss?

You'll want to see the monument. As far as the parade, you're not obligated to stay for the whole thing.

The free museum across the street is fascinating, and the neighborhood is charming.

If you stay in the center of Boston can you get here via Public Tranportation?

You should also take a walk to the nearby Charlestown Navy Yard and visit the USS Constitution. You can walk around on deck on your own or take the guided tour which brings you below deck to see how the crew lived. There is also a museum and a WW II gun boat to tour. Also, have a drink or a meal at the nearby Warren Tavern, dating from the late 1700s, the oldest tavern in MA. The parade is fun, there will be Colonial re-enactors and fife and drum music.

You can get to Charlestown and Old Ironsides on the Inner Harbor Ferry that leaves from Long Wharf.
